KCC About Us
Kara Catherine Tentatrice
Hi there! My name is Stephanie (she/her) AKA Kara Cat, and I am the Owner, Operator, and Creatrix of Kara Cat Creations.
I started all of this out of curiosity. A way to stretch my artistic skills and make some cool stuff in the process. I didn't really know anything about furries to start and I didn't have any biases or preconceived notions that might hold someone else back. All I knew was that I found someone's page who made videos about their process, and I got hooked. Unfortunately, that person doesn't do this anymore, but I am grateful to them for providing me with my passion I didn't even know about until I came upon them. I'm one of those obsessive creatives that want to know everything about a process before I start so when I get my supplies, I can hit the ground running. My very first mask attempt was not particularly good, you can see the black housecat mask in my gallery, but it was a huge series of lessons. My second mask was the blue and white dragon, and that lovely creature speaks for herself.
I am not someone that is easy to get to know. I'm just a normal person with all the normal person flaws that come with life. What I can tell you though is that I would be honored to bring your character to life if you let me. I strive to do better every time I put out work. My style develops more and more, and my quality follows suit. I might not have started out knowing much about the community and I do tend to sit on the art side of things so I might not always be up to date on community news but I am definitely a furry. Being a furry and an artist has brought out the best sides of me, my confidence gets a boost when I take on my character, I feel less anxious and more personable. I feel like the real me. All I want in this world is to do that for you, to help you express yourselves without fear of judgement or repercussions for just being who you are.
I took a break a few years in to operations and was just trying to keep life from running me down. I went back to school for fashion design, so I would have a stronger foundation to build on when I returned which would help me provide a better service, quality product, and additional product services. I'm happy to say I completed that degree program with a 4.0 GPA, a gorgeous fashion group, professional photography session, and an awesome student runway show to boot! I did that because I had a customer back in the day that I couldn't help. I felt guilty that I couldn't serve him because he didn't have anyone to help him with a duct-tape-dummy. What he had was a list of measurements that at the time I didn't understand how to interpret. I do now though.
That brings us to today where I am ready to dedicate my time to creating always handmade, bespoke costumes, clothing and props for all of you lovely souls. Thank you for reading this far and taking the time getting to know me a little bit.
